@alesecherez: 🪑Buying a sofa is not just buying a sofa — it’s choosing the piece you’ll rest in, cry in, drink coffee on, host friends on, and spend lazy Sundays with. So here are a few things I learned while choosing mine 🛋️✨ 1. Measure your space twice. Don’t trust your eyes — trust your tape measure. Think about walking paths and how the sofa sits in the room, not just “does it fit”. 2. Depth matters. A deep sofa (around 55–65cm seat depth) = cozy, lounging, movie-night vibes. A shallow sofa = more “sitting upright, hosting, drinking wine”. Choose based on lifestyle, not just looks. 3. Fabric > color. Go for durable fabrics (linen blends, performance fabrics, cotton canvas, bouclé if high quality). If you have pets → avoid velvet or loose weave fabrics. 4. Neutral colors age best. Beige, oatmeal, sand, mocha — these don’t go out of style. You can change pillows, blankets & decor instead of changing the entire sofa later. 5. Check the inside structure. A good sofa frame is wood (not plastic). And cushions should have a foam core with feather/down or fiber around — that’s what makes it comfy and not stiff. 6. Comfort beats aesthetics every time. Sit on it. Lay on it. Pretend to nap. It’s not a museum — you actually live here 🤍 The sofa is the heart of the living room… it’s where life happens.
