YES! I had a friend who read Quicksilver and on PAGE 4 was like I don't understand the hype about this book... I loooove a world building, slow burn with YEAAAARNING for like 90% of the time

“How spicy is it?” is a question that HURTS me when talking about a large fantasy series or really any book in general. I love spice, I think it’s a great expression and can be a great way to truly be intimate with a character, but it does the author an injustice to ONLY focus on spice. There’s 400+ pages of so much more content that is worth reading/enjoying.

What's funny is I've found that I'll actually skim spicy scenes when they're too frequent, because I'm trying to get to the next big part of the plot... like, I want to know what happens next. We get it, you love each other...stop fucking so much and find out who the bad guy is damn it. I love some good spice but I need a good plot or I'll DNF

I hate the “but is it spicy?” questions! I like spice, but I need PLOT, ACTION, WORLD BUILDING, MYSTERY! Lol I’ve been reading more YA lately because I can’t just do spice spice spice. Ugh. Honestly, I’ve found myself literally skipping spice scenes in so many books lately because it’s just a lot of “filler” (pun intended I guess)
