I really appreciate how much information that you put on your slides! My husband and I just booked our flight to Japan for 6 nights in March (8 days including the 2 days to travel there and back). We feel a bit behind so I’m trying to research as much as I can. I’m super excited and nervous. Our thought process is to land in Haneda and travel right to Kyoto day 1 on a bullet train (with two suitcases 🥴) stay in Kyoto 3 nights with a day trip to Osaka, then day 4 wake up and go back to Tokyo and stay there until day 7 when we fly home. I love your suggestion about staying in two spots in Tokyo. I really want to shop for new clothes while I’m there and buy a suitcase to bring home or just pack like three outfits for my first few days but I have no clue where to even shop there so I need to do some research for sure. May also buy a new pair of walking shoes lol!

Do you recommend staying in Osaka or Kyoto as a solo traveler? I would plan to do day trips from wherever the base is. I will also be starting in Tokyo and visiting Okinawa after Kyoto/osaka in a 10 day trip.

I tell everyone to just book hotels over airbnbs mainly because they handle the luggage going from city to city. It was soooo convenient. I’d hate to have to figure that out myself.

Great tips! Thank you !! so I’m in the process of trying to book my trip& had a couple of questions. How many days do you think is worth spending in Osaka? I’ve been seeing mixed reviews, with some people suggesting more time in Kyoto and just a day in Osaka. I’m also trying to figure out the best way to fly back to Florida 😰whether it makes more sense to return to Tokyo or depart from a different city. Lastly, I’m wondering if Mount Fuji is worth squeezing into the itinerary. I’ll be there for 10 days and want to make the most of the trip while planning everything smart
