I’m not highly opinionated on the topic. But I feel like there’s no issue with influencers getting bibs, they should just be running in their projected corral and not infront of the elites.

Commented on Ethan Kwon’s vid where he was talking abt the hate he an other “running” influencers were getting. Basically Ethan tried to throw the charity runners under the bus by comparing them to the influencers who were given bibs. I commented saying “these charity runners raised thousands of dollars for an array of good causes which is their way of EARNING their bibs to the marathon.” And he blocked me …. 🤣 Can’t face the truth ig!!!

Running is for everyone. When an influencer gets to run in the front without earning it, they are sending the message that it isn’t for everyone. And that’s bullshit.

So many influencers show us time and time again that they are sellouts. “If you were given a free bib, you wouldn’t say no” is all I need to hear. I question influencers ethics and motivation, but seeing the same YT girls running ever race is so repetitive and boring. We need more diversity, open opportunities and marketing that tells unique stories instead of rewarding mediocrity. Also, I know a few influencers that aren’t in the running space, but they ran and fundraised their full amount and ran in the normal corrals when they could’ve utilized their platform to have this opportunity.

We’re at a point in society where as much as it is the runners job to run, it’s an influencers job to take brand deals. What New York roadrunners decides to do with their sponsors has nothing to do with the livelihood of the creator.

I love u. Completely agree on all ur takes. People who don’t agree never worked hard for an opportunity in their life. Posting a video as an influencer doesn’t equal “hard work”. I’m not fast but I grinded for months to raise over 4 grand for charity to run nyc.

I also have to say, I was overwhelmed leading up to the marathon because I felt so many brands, clubs, influencers were trying to steal NYC Marathons thunder. It was like, having an unsanctioned run the 2 nights before the marathon, yet Mother Nature had other plans. As a person who just ran their first marathon, nothing will outshine or overshadow the best NYC holiday of the year.

Really love your content and what you stand for about sports and athletes. Personally I don’t like that people market themnselves as “influencers”, generally speaking these “influencers” hardly do anything towards something meaningful, but to only get fame and these brand deals. People like you that actually bring some value content and actually could influence more than any of this influencers. Keep doing your content man, love it🫶🏾
