Guys, this is NOT socialism. Socialism specifically refers to the abolition of private property and having the working class in control of the means of production and democratizing the economy. Social welfare under capitalism ≠ socialism. The purpose of actual socialism is to be a transitionary period between capitalism and communism.

High taxes 40 50% effective rates fund welfare, but they're efficient due to small, homogeneous populations 5 to10 million each, high trust in government, and resource wealth eg Norway's oil. They encourage work via easy hiring/firing with unemployment support. The US, with its size and diversity, would struggle to replicate this without massive tax hikes on the middle class Nordics tax everyone heavily, not just the rich. Sweden has faced immigration strains and rising inequality in the 2020s. Denmark's PM has said, We are a market economy... not socialist. They're or capitalism with a safety net, not pure democratic socialism. us could do just Expand affordable healthcare (build on Obamacare), invest in education/tech training, reform taxes for fairness (close loopholes), and promote green jobs. Avoid extremes like Too much socialism risks stagnation and business moves overseas.

I’m still stunned about why people hate socialism so much. Once upon a time we were hunters & gathering that shift to farming, growing our own foods, & building houses with mud & stone. Things were FREE 👏🏽 How did we get here 🥺😭
