All year, Surah Al Kahf has been the one that actually made sense to me on a deeper level. The people in that story were cornered, out of options, nothing in their control. Their whole move was to turn to Allah and ask for mercy and for their situation to be guided the right way. And logically, that is exactly what life is. We hit points where our strength, money, planning, everything hits a wall. And that ayah reminded me of that this year. With the health issues, the stress, and everything I dealt with, it pushed me to recognize that Allah’s mercy is not random. It comes at the exact point when you have done all you can, and He steps in to move things in a direction you could never map out yourself. That ayah kept me steady. It reminded me that a man does his part, but the outcome is in Allah’s hands. And when He answers, it is always at the right time, even if you do not see it coming.

The timing of this brings me to tears. Subhanallah. As someone who is a recovering planner who makes dua with a specific way in mind. Allah has always answered in a way that was so unexpected and subtle. Alhamdulilah for Allah.
