I was 30. I’m now fifty. I have zero patience for BS including patriarchy and internalized misogyny.

I talked to the principal at my son’s school about this because they have awards for kindness and selflessness and it’s only the girls who win with accolades for her pitting herself last. I asked him if we could start recognizing the assertive, less convenient girls.

It happens when your oestrogen level goes down. You stop needing to nurture as much and it is great!

I tapped out once menopause hit. I’m so sad I fell for the programming that absolutely hurt me. I got bamboozled and I’m pissed about it.

50 changed everything for me. No more time for people who do not reciprocate my love, my energy. I don't accept any more lies or excuses. I don't have space for people who aren't genuine.

My 18 year old daughter says she wants to get married so she never has to work. I asked her to consider the lives of all my female friends -- they ALL had to work eventually.

I hate it when people are touched by a man praising his wife by describing a very uneven relationship and unintentionnaly revealing his abuse and incompetence. I never found it charming...

So true- you are told that if your “good” and follow all the rules and expectations-you will be rewarded. Then one day you wake up and finally see it was all a lie to exploit your time, labor and energy for the benefit of others

When all the people you’ve supported and birthed are thriving and you’re still standing in the same place. That’s the wake up call that made me realize I hate this system.

Turning 50 was so wonderful for me.
I love serving and loving people but somehow felt I lost myself in the process as I am an all or nothing kind of person.
I started reclaiming my identity and worth and it has been a joyride. I still wait on my kids like a waitress 😂😂but have started to firmly celebrate myself again- the last time I had this mindset was when I was 20.
