Parents forget to also dismiss children from adult conversations. I do remember when I was young my parents will tell us to go play and not sit around when adults are conversing. “ manners need to be taught”I do see that a lot from this generation.

Thts true I would never know about aunts and uncles business and my cousin same age as me would know everything cuz her mom tells her and it would cause many fights with my cousin cuz I see my family as innocent and I have my own perspective my cousin gets all her chisme from her mom like she would tell me my mom steels stuff and me being innocent wouldn’t understand she would try to corrupt me and it wouldn’t work

There has been some friction between some of my uncles. But my mom always said it was non of the kids business and to respect all our uncles equally. Well, one time In FB two cousins started going at it. And my mom came in as said “as cousins you all need to leave your parents drama aside if you all want to continue being cousins. Leave the past things in the past wit the old people, you all create a new paths” and they did. We all get along and when the grown ups bring up things we separate from that conversation

Listen I heard stuff I was not supposed to. I’m second gen, we lived in the Sourh, and the adults didn’t realize I still understood Spanish. They wanted me playing with the other kids, but sometimes I would hang around and eavesdrop LOL. I hadn’t thought about it being that negative, but this video has me thinking!

My tias with the chisme were the problem and when I called them out on it as a kid they would stop talking to me it’s embarrassing at their grown age they couldn’t take accountability or see their flaws or get offended for telling them their truths.

Yes, we were not raised the same. As a little girl I never heard a grown-up conversation because my mom would always kick me out and send me outside to play with the rest of the other kids. until this day I do the same with my kids, they are not allowed in the adult conversations and I hate it When kids are sitting down being nosy and the parents don’t care .
