I worked as a crossing guard in canada. this is relatively common. the drivers, mostly parents of students because I was next to the school, actively threatened me daily

Unfortunately drivers don’t stop for people who are going to cross the street. Happened to me and a driver was going to hit me even though he was stopping and then accelerating when I was halfway on the other side. They don’t really care 😭

there was a crossing guard near my house and while crossing with the children a car came and hit all of them. there's still a memorial for them on that crosswalk. it was the crossing guard and 4 children who died

I was almost ran over by a woman eating a sandwich, talking on the phone and just came from a place that served alcohol. And when I called the nonemergency number, they transferred me and left me on hold for an hour (i hung up) a lot of cops and stuff just don’t care about this.
