painters tape actually left so much residue on my car even some detailers refused to do it since it's just a huge headache. i legit tried everything to get it off but nothing worked consistently. def using something else this year

I got the same lights last year and it did still scratch the paint, the tape pulled off clear coat but paint was old and also I used electrical tape, for the glue that stayed, I used alcohol to remove some and gave up and eventually the sun toasted the glue and eventually little by little it all washed away but it ain’t worth it if cops are strict, I asked my local cop and he said he thought it was cool and wouldn’t pull me over but other cops probably wouldn’t find it cool and do it at your own risk

Does painters tape work in the rain? Where I live it rains a lot

Cops enjoyed my lights. Drove with them on the roads and all. But I used clear tape from HEB. It left so much residue. People say use vinyl and just cut out the pieces, but seems like a lot of work. Will do it again people loved it so much. Got invited to a lot of events
