Petsmarts are NOT groomers.. I have heard soo many horror stories. I will NEVER TRUST Petsmart. Go to an actual groomer.

Dropped my dog off close to opening. They called me right before closing saying my dog had a bloody nose for 30 min. Everyone was gone. Couldn’t get video footage. Rushed my dog to the vet and they said it was head trauma. I was LIVID.

There's no need to put 1,000s of groomers down, most of who love pups, to show that your sympathetic to a nervous dog. Corporate salons can be very busy, loud, & hectic, which isn't ideal for pups that are nervous/anxious already.

Poor thing is so stressed. They traumatized my boy so bad we could only bath him outside. Confined spaces and running water were extremely dangerous for us after that.

petsmart is a busy high paced environment that is also very loud. some dogs just dont do well in that environment that doesn't mean anything bad happened to them.

Former petsmart groomer here, not all Petsmart’s are bad the one I worked at every groomer was amazing no need to bash Petsmarts just because there are a few bad ones out there but I’m so glad this cutie is happier!

I understand wanting to comfort the dog, however as a professional you should not have put your face up against the face of a strangers nervous dog. If they bit you, it would have made things so much worse for the animal, you, and the owners.

As a groomer of 18years, I have had dogs I’ve groomed their entire lives who are always nervous and shaky no matter what you do. Some are ever super well behaved and use to the entire grooming process but they are still nervous. I have an Aussiedoodle I’ve done her whole life, who comes in willingly, jumps on my table, jumps in the bathtub, doesn’t mind anything about the process, and comes regularly but she still pants and shakes pretty much the whole time. She’s sweet, will wag her tail and give me kisses, but she’s just a very anxious, nervous dog.

As a Petsmart groomer I have dogs come in from a private groomer like this before. I have also had dogs that were horrible for private groom be perfect for me. It not 100% black and white as we all like to think.

As someone who still works in corporate salon, we try our best to give the pups a good experience, since each groomer takes so many dogs a day it gets very loud and we rarely have 1 on 1 time with the dogs unless it’s a slow day, most of us actually care about the dogs and love to do what we do others don’t, there’s bad groomers everywhere not just in coperate salons.

Former Petsmart groomer here- I tell people to RUN from corporate groom shops. They prioritize numbers over care, when I was there we all had daily quotas, and if you were a slower groomer you just had to keep up. The environment ended up so stressful, loud, groomers stretched thin and rushing… Sometimes dogs would sit in loud kennels for hours because their groomer was behind, then get a rush groom to be done on time. It leaves zero room to respond individually to the dog or adjust to what they need. Absolute world of a difference when I transitioned to privately owned shops where groomers had control over their day.

I work with someone from petsmart and I love the way she is with all the dogs. The problem is pet smart will let anyone groom dogs and some people just loose the love for the job

My dog does this and I've had her since she was 6 weeks. She had never been groomed before. Some dogs are just anxious. 💜 But I have No DOUBT chain stores don't take the time they should. But my friends dogs LOVE their pet smart groomers. They live in San Jose

Also most dogs do shake during grooms as well the baby could just be nervous as some dogs are just super nervous no matter where they are nothing makes me more mad than people bashing groomers or groomers bashing groomers it’s not cool! Don’t get me wrong there are some bad groomers out there as there are bad people out there!

Lulu would bit was scream when you touch her back legs. I took me a long time to help her heal. She came from a private groomer. So please don't thought out a blanket statement when the problem is just bad groomers.
