I think one of the most exhausting parts of being a woman is how often we’re expected to distrust our own perception. If we notice something feels off, we’re paranoid. If his story isn’t making sense to us, we’re jumping to conclusions. If we recognize a dynamic we’ve lived through ourselves, we’re projecting. And if thousands of women independently start noticing the same fucking things, somehow we’re still not worth listening to. Noticing that something doesn’t add up isn’t the same thing as knowing exactly what happened.. asking questions isn’t a conviction. But women spend our lives learning to notice tiny changes in tone, mood, body language & behavior. And for a whole lot of us, learning to read a man wasn’t some fun little personality trait, it was a safety skill. And goddess forbid we zoom out & point out that none of this exists in a vacuum. White supremacy & patriarchy have been holding hands through this entire experiment. Then comes that “here she goes again” look. Correct. Here I fucking go again. Because they keep fucking being there. If you’re tired of hearing people point out oppressive systems, maybe help dismantle the damn things instead of getting annoyed at the people naming them. Whitch makes it pretty interesting watching woman after woman follow the Lindsay Clancy trial and independently arrive at some version of: «Wait. WTF is going on here?» Women are expected to produce a perfectly organized binder of evidence before anyone takes seriously the thing we noticed twenty red flags ago. Patriarchy has spent centuries calling women irrational while giving us very good reasons to become experts at reading men. #lindsayclancy #support #fyp
