When I was 12 years old I lived in the Philippines for a year just to try out if I wanted to study there instead of in the UAE, I stayed at my Lola's (grandma) place for the time being since our house in Marilao was still being fixed. I was going home from school on the back of my Tito's (uncle) motorcycle when something caught my eye there on the huge tree you'd pass by on the way to Malinta, there was a freakishly tall man/shadow hybrid on the tree that was smoking a huge cigarette pipe, when I noticed him (or it??) I couldn't help but stare and I obviously got shaken up when this thing made eye contact plus it was like half the size of the tree and the tree in question was around like 10 - 12 feet tall. When I asked my Lola (grandma) and titas (aunts) about it they told me it was a "Kapre" and asked whether or not I stared or so much made eye contact, when I told them yes it was the palest I have ever seen them, I got nervous and asked what would happen if I did? they told me it could follow me and somehow make me its bride (I had long hair at the time and was fairly decent looking which was the key component in attracting it💔) the scariest part was that I just ignored my Lola's advice and whatever dreams I had about it dragging me out of my room EVEN THOUGH I would wake up and have big scratches on my arm.
