I don’t see the point of a save the date? Why not just send out invitations?

For a wedding people need to travel to, a save the date is pointless until you know if your partner can come. You can't actually plan to attend until you get the invite, so you've gotta send the invites out EARLY.

6 months is not long for a wedding. Get your invites out and allow people to sort their schedules.

why do people need to ask and why is a "+1" even a thing? who invited just 1 person? a wedding invitation is for a couple by default. obviously that are bringing someone.

Only 6 months?! I need to request my leave a year in advance. If everyone is texting then it’s incredibly bad communication on the part of the couple

if the wedding is in 6/7 months, what's the point in a "save the date" card?? Just send the damn invite!!

Repeated question = your mistake. But with that attitude I wouldn’t go.

You know 6 months out when sending save the dates of you are doing plus ones. People need to book leave etc. If you are expecting people to come give them the information they need as soon as you have it

we sent a little info card out with our save-the-date, not traditional I know but we nicely told people that children weren't invited, and that only the people addressed on the envelope were invited and we were sorry for any plus 1s that weren't. Wanted to give people as much notice as possible, and to avoid any confusion

why can't they save half of the drama by getting married back in their hometown where their friends and family are 🤦‍♀️

sorey 7 months is not long enough in advance for a save the date. people are booking summer holidays 7 months ahead, if you truly want people to be able to make room to attend 7 months is not enough time, and i'd 100% be wondering if it's a plus one thing by that point

People need to know if they are saving to book travel for one or two. It makes a difference. Duh!

Logically. If your sending a save the date and then they recipient needs to know who exactly needs to save the date. Like is it just me, is it me and my husband, do we need a baby sitter or are the kids invited? If I need to arrange time off work, transport, hotels I need to know who I'm booking for. I think that's pretty obvious....

I think putting specific names on save the dates stop all the confusion, however on the odd occasion things have changed since my save the date, I’ve dropped a message. I’d rather someone message and ask than just not respond to the RSVP😂

Weddings are so expensive to attend and often people may have more than one wedding to go to..its perfectly reasonable to want to plan ahead to budget and try to get a cheaper rate or fare if travelling. so many couples think the entire world revolve around their wedding..always happy to celebrate my friends and family..but don't make it so awkward for guests..I assure you they don't want to be sending that message to ask in the first place

Completely disagree, I’ve had people’s names clearly stated on the save the dates, invites and within the RSVP section of websites and still been asked if plus ones are invited. And even worse, after names not being included in any of those things and the wedding website saying no children, being asked if their children are also invited.
