It would give teams an out to tank. We’d see one team just take on a load of these loans. What they need to do is make a second tier. Then you decrease the regular season and make the cup between the two tiers a 3 game knockout.

It doesn‘t make sense in the nba. In football both sides profit of a loan deal. One club has a good player for a year to help them avoid relegation or qualify for a international tournament. The other club gets a better more experienced player back after a year. Since there are no such things as relegation or international tournaments it wouldnt work. The only thing you play for is a ring and no contender would loan a player to another contender.

it might be better for players bit would it be better for teams? what's the reason for the loan team to develop players??? just to give them for the bigger market team and be just the spot for development? it is good idea but then u should add the second division league or develop summer league in my opinion

This won’t work - the draft puts emphasis on prospects going to the lower ranked teams, as well as not enough teams in the league for loaning to work - football(soccer) has hundreds of teams where loans are possible - the NBA has around 30 teams
