I used to date a Sargent and a Lieutenant. Whenever you provide your ID to a cop, they'll run it through Interstate Identification Index (III), which is known as the "triple-I". The officer plans to conduct a comprehensive and thorough background check across multiple levels of law enforcement databases. If the cop doesn't find anything, then THEY WILL LEAVE NOTATIONS regarding the "encounter" to jam you up in the future. Therefore, think twice before you just "hand over" your ID to a cop 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯

You cannot detain to figure out what's going on. you have to have a reasonable articulable suspicion of some sort of crime before you have any authority to tell anybody what to do where they can walk where they can stand, how they can be. stop running wild and do your job properly
