People who judge others for the deer they shoot have been absolutely brainwashed over the years by hunting shows and trophy hunters. They couldnt have strayed further from what hunting actually is. One step away from High Fence hunting.

The old-timer taxidermist that allow me to watch him work in his shop back when I was a kid never talk down about anybody's kill so long as it was humanely put down didn't necessarily have to be legal but he wanted it to be humane. lol come to think of it, that might have actually been the first time I broke the law helping him clean that black bear skin... I don't recall seeing a tag on it but I don't hunt bear, do they need tags like deer🤔 🤯🤦

I shot a fork as my first buck and the processor surprised me by doing a euro mount for me since it was my first. I was ecstatic😁

My first ever buck was a big ol guy. I had to get it euro mounted cuz I couldn’t afford a shoulder mount and I had so many old timers give me flak for doing a euro but personally I think they look better unless it’s an absolute unit of a buck.

A deer is a deer but not every deer needs a mount. Taxidermy is not for the weak; it’s a skill. That being said I think it’s an excellent lesson to teach a beginner hunter. It’s not that hard to learn and most hunters already have most of the skills. Kinda like learning how to change your oil; you won’t take advantage of the service after that. You won’t pay for a mount unless it’s truly worth it 🤷♀️
