@zeezee25: what i do to help panic attacks 🩷 1. keep a box of comfort items like headphones, a blanket, fidgets, soft clothing & things i know are safe and relaxing 2. turn off social media and get “into the real world” for a bit. this helps so much with grounding 3. listen to calming (happy!!!) music 4. tapping/stretching/stimming to help regulate my body physically & ground me 5. talking to friends or my partner to help distract and let everything out 6. remind myself that i am living right now, i am safe, i am okay, this is just a panic response - i try to rationalise my surroundings and trick my brain into realising i don’t need to be scared in that moment 7. go outside in nature (if possible) or listen to bird or forest sounds, this helps to regulate your nervous system on a biological level !! 8. allow yourself to feel, but try not to allow your brain to fall into the cycle of further triggering yourself. if you feel scared, don’t look at things that scare you. if you’re feeling worried or overwhelmed, don’t read the news or make endless to do lists 🥲 (i am also guilty of this) if you’re currently going through this, please know that you are not alone, and it is okay to struggle ❤️ #neurodivergent #anxiety #autism #panicattack #MentalHealth

I can definitely relate to this. I think the more we unmask and learn our own brains the regulations can improve once the massive regression, as its kind of a middle finger to the mask. Accepting our stims, interests and feelings helps. Don't know if I made sense. But proud of you x

I found one off the only things that helps me is rubbing my knuckles against my heart, I think its the sensory input

As someone who used to have daily panic attacks, grounding + slow breaths were my lifeline — thank you for sharing this. ❤️

I tend to imagine that I’m with somebody that I trust and somebody who usually is able to ground me and try to imagine what they would say. It’s to the point now that whenever I’m calming myself down in my head it’s my boyfriend’s voice combatting the thoughts, not myself.

"when you find it yourself" YES! 💯🌻✨️I had a very uncomfy adversion to regulation/meditation/grounding exercise recommendations 😅 Even if I was the one seeking out recommendations! Turns out its a whole different story when you find them on your own and it's tailored to your own unique self 💙🙂 I now have quite a few that are very helpful and discovered what works for me all on my own 😎

I have something that may help too. I created an all-natural hard sour candy with adaptogens and vitamin D to help distract the brain and promote calm
