I think two things are true. I think Chelsea sending them was genuine, but production saw it as an opportunity for some drama so they staged it. However, they already knew she didn’t like Chelsea and Bre being there would add extra to the scene.

A lot of Mary’s problem that I haven’t seen anyone address is the woman is CHRONICALLY avoidant. Her head & face genuinely twitch in convos that are slightly confronting bc she genuinely feels so uncomfortable. I think when Chelsea sent the flowers it sent her into a rage bc it would mean she’d have to swallow her pride, *confront* whatever their issues are and let go. She didn’t want to, she wanted to continue to feel validated in hating her. I know this bc my Mom is a Mary. She flies off the handle when ppl do the mature thing and try to make amends and then throws something, “look, a bird!” to distract everyone from the mature gesture so she doesn’t also have to be mature. It’s classic avoidant behavior.

Let’s play devils advocate- if Chelsea knew that it would be when filming and did it in a performative way - is that the most evil thing ever? Did it merit that kind of response? Sure it would have been calculated but this is a reality tv show- it’s all calculated drama. Far from the worst thing someone has done on the show let alone reality tv. I don’t think it was calculated but even if it was- who cares?
