@chershairandearservices: Today was a really special day and one I’d been thinking about all week. A beautiful client travelled a distance to see me, and she showed the bravest kind of strength… the kind where you ask for help even when you feel your most vulnerable. She’s spent most of this year in and out of hospital… surgeries, recovery, being bed bound, and trying to hold herself together through it all. Her hair became completely matted during that time. And on top of everything else she was coping with, losing her hair felt like one more heartbreak. She came in already preparing herself for the idea that she might need to shave it all off. We worked hard for for 5 hours. Eventually, we reached a point where cutting the matting away was the kindest thing we could do for her scalp. When we saw the inside of the mat, we both knew it was the right decision. Even if we could have detangled it, the hair would have been too damaged to save, but here’s the part that still makes my heart feel full. Once it was cut away, I took my time detangling the remaining hair. Bit by bit Carefully. And I was able to shape it into the sweetest little bob. When she saw her hair was saved she felt so happy and relieved. She looked beautiful. She told me she can now go and try on wedding dresses feeling beautiful again 😍 That moment… I’ll carry with me for a long time. If you’re struggling, please don’t be scared to ask for help. You are not alone. Your feelings matter. You deserve to feel like yourself again.
