Sunday Football Snacks 🏈 Week 3: MOZZARELLA STICKS Will I eat a whole ball of mozzarella? No. Will I eat a whole ball of mozzarella if you coat it in breadcrumbs and fry it? Yes. Store bought frozen Mozzarella by Sticks hold no chance against these homemade ones using actual FRESH mozzarella (not cheese sticks!) perfectly crispy and melted I already want to make them again. Ingredients 2 lbs of fresh mozzarella (much better then using cheese sticks!) 1 1/2 cups panko breadcrumbs 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1/2 tsp pepper 1/4 tsp salt 2 eggs 1/2 cup all purpose flour Oil (for frying) Marinara sauce (for serving) -add panko to a bag and crush up until you have more fine breadcrumbs -add all spices to panko and mix -chop Mozerella into stick sized pieces, (about 1/2” by 1/2” by 2”) size is not super important, just do what you want! -place Mozerella onto paper towels to help remove some of the moisture -in 3 separate bowls/dishes, add flour, egg (beaten), and breadcrumb mixture -take a stick of the cheese, and cover in flour, then egg (and let some excess egg drip off) and then breadcrumbs. Press breadcrumbs into the cheese to make sure it is verryyyyy well coated! -repeat until all sticks are made! -freeze for at least 1 hour, or until ready to serve -add 1/2 inch of oil to a pan and heat over medium heat (until oil is ~350°F). -add Mozerella sticks straight from freezer, frying for 1-2 minutes per side, until golden and crispy -remove from oil and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil and keep them crispy! -serve with marinara sauce & enjoy! Come back next week for week three and let me know if there’s any recipes you want to see!! #sundayfootballsnacks #mozerellasticks #nflsnack #snackideas #recipes @NFL
