Can we convert from f stop to t stops? The way I understand it is that it works like a naming/labeling convention or does it affect how the lens is made? Because if we could convert from fstops to t stops, then there's no point in using fstops at all, tstops give you a more accurate idea of how lighting will be in a photo

This is a great explanation! I had to look it up myself when I was in film school. You know how they taught it? “F stop is focal length over diameter, and t stop isn’t it’s just its own thing. A lotta film cameras use t stops.” And that was it, that’s all they covered.
