I’m gonna need people to remember that a genuine phobia is irrational. It can start from a logically scary thing, because literally everyone would be scared if they’re being chased, but a PHOBIA is an EXTREME fear reaction to the trigger. Looking at a picture of a diver next to a whale underwater and feeling a little uncomfy is not thalassophobia. Exploding into a full on panic attack because your uber pulled onto a bridge going over the water and you’re terrified that the bridge is going to collapse and you’re going to die is thalassophobia. Your normal discomfort is not a phobia.

I remember that before getting anxiety meds I had really bad diokophobia to the point I couldn't play adopt me on Roblox because the pets would follow two inches behind you everywhere you went 😭
