As a Persian girl, i was raised to know that smiling is a sign of kindness. I smile at almost everyone, and it’s not fake, it’s because i want to give positive energy to that person even if they’re strangers.

Not Slavic, and born in America. I genuinely went through enough to not smile at people, I'm not familiar with strangers so why should I smile? Smiling is like inviting unknown people into your life. I'm very careful and selective about who I want to keep, people just ask "you're so quiet, you're shy" honey I'm not shy I'm just observing/not interested. The only time I smile randomly Is To people I want to have a good day. Not a fake smile, just a message that it's okay.

Mmmm it’s a matter of perspective. I believe not smiling unless there is a reason, also is a lack of the ability to enjoy small things from life, which lead in a very positive and happy mindset. I heard the Slavic mood is a respond of trauma I heard it from a Slavic old woman
