This came as the result of cantonese immigrants mostly from Guangdong coming to Venezuela back in 1947 onwards thanks to the oil boom. They had to cook with whatever they could find in the local market and also had to tweak a bit their recipes to please the local palate, resulting in a westernization of their food and now it’s part of our culture 🥰
