Everyone criticizes her, but Swiss Airlines trusts her capabilities. That's why she's an A330 pilot, while most of you are just commenting from your sofa with zero flying experience. If you consider a TA as "nothing to be worried about" and you're an actual pilot, maybe you should consider look for another job. In aviation everything can go wrong in just one second.

TA is not rare. & startle effect is normal human response. She immediately reverted to her SOPs, professional performance.

whoever is saying the got scared because she is a woman, TCAS is the Traffic Collision Alert System, when it alerts you, you have like 30 seconds of time to save everyone's LIFE. That's one of the unexpected and dangerous situations which should not happen but happens only by ATC error

Most pilots I know including myself have that reaction when you can’t see the other aircraft. Nowhere in the video did she drop any responsibility She still did her job well. It is scary when you can hear the traffic alert, but can’t see it.

Why is everyone mad at her reaction… she is still a human but the way she recovers herself and gets to keeping the plane and its passengers safe shows she is a good pilot. No matter how much training you have chances are you will still be spooked by hearing another plane is barrelling towards you at high speed and altitude, it’s not an every day thing. The point of training is not to become a robot, it’s just to be able to manage your very human feelings and reactions to a point where you don’t get held back by them. She did great, she was spooked but just went on saving lives from a dangerous situation like she had to.

A few years ago, two planes crashed over Germany. TCAS gave other instructions than flight control center. One plane climbed following TCAS, the other climbed following flight control. Crash followed.
