This hit me in the heart. Decades ago my mom told me she saw a deer in an empty field on a lonely Christmas morning (long story) and she just knew everything was going to be alright. She and her sister died a few years back. I miss them a lot. Sometimes I see two deer in Griffith Park here in LA and I always feel like it’s them, come to say hi.
