The REF should not have allowed them to not shake hands, he should have made them shake, and if they didn’t…the game won’t start. simple as that

Agreed, 100%. Along that same line…. I despise the hand slap lineup at the end of a game. Everyone walks by, mumbles “Good game”, and doesn’t mean it. When we play at home, we don’t do it. We go to the center of the field and meet up with the opposing team. I tell my guys… You find four or five guys, look them in the eye and shake their hand like a man. Tell them they played well…. Find the guy who lit you up and tell him that’s the hardest you’ve been hit all year… Find the guy you lit up and make sure he’s okay. I always told the visiting coach during pregame warmups what was going to happen at the end of the game.

my take is, I think coach of red team told them not to shake hands. if not, we fasho forfeit the game AND they lining up on the goal line because they running 100 yard sprints under them lights.. black/Grey team at least attempted fist bump.

I agree with you 100%. Bad coaching not addressing it in the moment. If ref I would flag. Then give it another shot and if they still didn’t shake, I would cancel the game due to lack of sportsmanship.

That behavior was definitely encouraged by the coaches. Ive seen way too much over the past 11yrs in youth football with bad coach behaviors teaching kids bad sportsmanship

I couldn’t agree more. I don’t care about the game. We are raising young men and this is not acceptable behavior. As a parent, my kids off the field immediately.
