mine did the exact same thing. I took a container and put grass seeds in it. when the grass had grown I would spray it down with water and only then would she flop around to get clean.

My cockatiel will only bathe in air. She will stand in front of a fan and do bathing behaviors but HATES bathes or being sprayed

It’s because he becomes the water (he’s already the color, and then he makes the water sounds) he’s the cleanest water bird I’ve ever seen 😂🥰

My parrotlet does the same!! If you use a shallow cat fountain it may help them walk under the water, but it may just be their size 🩵
