As a stylist I never understood why you go in while the receipt paper is still soaking wet to flat iron it… most situations where they’re using a hot tool you’re either drying the product in or applying it letting it dry then using your tools…

As a stylist, i would never use that Davines product as a heat protectant. It’s a finishing texturizer.

Hii so from what I know— something like the kenra spray is a blowdry heat protectant. While something like the kenra hot spray 20 gives you hot tool protection 🤍

The “winner” is a dry texture spray. Not a heat protectant. Yay that it has heat protection but that is applied after styling for volume and a light hold.

Thermal paper: • Is flat • Is dry • Has no internal structure • Has no water content Hair: • Is cylindrical • Contains bound + free water • Transfers heat differently along the shaft • Traps steam internally (which causes real damage) A product can “pass” the paper test and still cause bubble hair when you flat iron damp strands. The paper will never show that.
