Some extra context, monks walk barefoot through their communities early in the morning to receive food offerings from local people, in some traditions. They also preform Walking pilgrimages. These are essentially long journeys, sometimes across entire countries, undertaken for spiritual reasons, devotion, or to spread a message of peace. Just like this group of monks is currently on a 2,300-mile walk from Fort Worth, Texas, to Washington, D.C., to promote national healing and unity.

my dad was Buddhist. if its early and they'll coss whatever town/city your in, please consider leaving food and drinks for them. I learned so much about life from the way of Buddhist life. these monks... I hope when they leave this earth that their enlightenment will be beautiful. please treat them kindly because this message is about peace.

these are monks from my local temple and monks from around the world who came in support of the Walk For Peace! They would love any support! They have a Facebook page where followers are posting almost daily updates! Their website also has a blog for daily updates! It's touching my heart to see all the love and support🫶🏼💕

The whole journey will be 110 days. They will walk 20 miles a day. ETA to Houston is Nov 13th. They also have an ADORABLE dog (Aloka) traveling with them. Aloka has already done 1 pilgrimage with them traveling 3000km in India before they adopted him and brought him to America

I live between Richmond va and Williamsburg va on a pretty major highway. im hoping they come this way bc I wanna thank them and give water and snacks if I can. it looks close on the map but I cant tell 100%
