This was my exact experience, got cut my sophomore year after dropping 15 in a quarter against one of our most competitive teams in a pre seasons game to make room for coaches favorite football guys. Took a year off and came back as a senior and played varsity after hooping at invite only courts with talented dudes from all around and was frying the starters 24/7 but never got to play because I “didn’t have enough knowledge to run the playbook” keep in mind my coach had 20 inbound plays and another 30 or so offensive sets. Nobody on the team actually knew the playbook and I rarely made mistakes on play setup lol. Completely killed the game for me.

Shit happened with me in high school football. Fortunately the rest of coaching staff but the HC liked me and had me playing almost every position. It sucks but sometimes you gotta push through. Got a few scholarships too.

best running back in highschool. Sat the bench. quit halfway through the season went and played lacrosse. started as a mid fielder and got to level people for fun.
