I live in a country that does that exactly and I can assure you it’s not a scam. They themselves don’t even believe what they’re saying but they need YOU, the majority, to believe it so you vote against it, in their favor, and they won’t have to part with what is essentially peanuts to them- IF they’re even in that tax bracket which these these creators regurgitating this info are nowhere near.
