To everyone saying macon is dangerous. A tip of advice from someone who does live there, Keep to yourself. Do the things you gotta do and go back home. Don't try to meddle in others business because 9 times outta 10 it's not gonna end well. Of course if you need some help ask but other than that just keep it moving. Overall if you don't mess with people, people wont mess with you. Its common sense. Every city will have its crime and shootings, some more than others, practice being safe at all times and I promise you its not as bad as others make it out to be. If you have the choice to live here or somewhere else then go somwhere else because its not worth living in macon.

I moved to Macon from Atl , to be closer to my job. Atl is home but I was over the traffic , cost of living etc. it was a win win for me .. there’s crime everywhere!!!

I live Downtown and I know why they price these apartments so high and as a person of color “FBA” & Older …I could make a particular comment on the psychology behind it but I don’t think everyone is really ready for that sort of conversation. But a key word “Self Awareness” has something to do with it. Is it fair? NO. However, it’s a conversation needing to be had between our village.
