Google IVDD; this looks exactly what my dog has. We took him to the emergency vet over the weekend bc he was in so much pain and got lethargic because of it. Almost $2000 later, the vet was very confident it’s a disc issue in his back. The only way to confirm is with an MRI which we opted out of. They sent us home with pain killers, a steroid, and medicine to sedate him bc the only way to fix this (other than back surgery) is strict crate rest for 4-6 weeks. So we have to sedate him a bit to keep him from wanting to run around and to be chill in the crate. Only after a few days and he’s already so much better. Sending you love!!!

for anyone in the future needing to hear this: if you have a big dog that you want to take him to the ER vet but hes unable to walk or too heavy to lift in your car, please call your non-emergency PD. they will help you put them in your car. do NOT call 911 -ER vet receptionist

german sherperds very commonly have hip or joint issues; or like other commenters have said; arthritis. My dog (husky; 10 years old) is just now getting arthritis. there is supplements and pills for pain!

hello ! i’m a vet assistant. to me , it looks like either a hip problem (very common in larger breeds) or arthritis. it would be beneficial to perform x-rays on your baby. praying for you 🩷

My GSD has severe hip dysplasia and arthritis, hes 8 now. His treatment is a monthly shot of librela and daily gabapentin, works like a dream. He will need xray to confirm.

Yes, excuses aside you can call a friend and get him into an urgent care today. TikTok is not a safe place to ask for medical pet advice and it’s not equivalent to a veterinarians opinion. You do the same thing for an animal you would do if you saw a person with the same symptoms & I would hope you would take them to the hospital.

i’d be concerned his hip is dislocated. get him seen sooner if you can. please don’t give any over the counter pain meds as it may interfere with what your vet wants to do.

There’s an arthritis shot that works really well! I would see if your vet has it! I forget the name but my senior German shepherd got them and she would run like a puppy again!

This is EXTREMELY painful… if you cant pay or find anyone to help you please find an at home vet to atleast have pain meds till the appointment. Its the pain like a broken back or hip. Its really painful

May be degenerative myalpothy. Degenerative myalpothy is common in Shepherds.It happened to one of mine. It's when they lose muscle mass in their rear legs and it eventually moves up to their organs like the bladder.
