Because in order to observe in ANY way, we must interact with photon. Like in order to see, we need the light - photons in the light are interacting with the photon in the experiment therefore it changes. It’s not terrifying - just physics.

It’s not mystical. When you observe something and measure it, you’re introducing light. That light changes the particles into something else.

Have you considered that the light needed to view the experiment interferes with the particles ?? Thus causing the wave pattern
