I work in a dementia unit.. it is a long goodbye and just know he will always know that you are his little girl and he may not know you at times but he is still in there

This is exactly what dementia is: mourning the loss of someone who is still here. We have been going through this with my Mother for ten years now, the last four have been horrible!!!!!! I’m so sorry you’re having to walk this horrific path with so many of us out here.
