Your 40s are when healthy aging becomes less about adding more products and more about being intentional with the ones you choose. Here's why I picked each winner: Sunscreen > Moisturizer: Moisturizer is important, especially as skin becomes drier during perimenopause and menopause, but sunscreen is still the single most important anti-aging product you can use. Vitamin C > Growth Factors: Growth factors are exciting, but vitamin C has decades of evidence supporting its antioxidant and brightening benefits. It's also much more affordable for most people. Check out my FREE Vitamin C guide in the link in bio if you're not sure which one to choose. Retinoid > Azelaic Acid: I love azelaic acid for rosacea, acne, and pigmentation, but if I'm talking overall healthy aging in your 40s, retinoids simply do more. Peptides > Hyaluronic Acid: Hyaluronic acid is great for hydration, but peptides may offer additional benefits for skin firmness and healthy aging. See link in bio for Peptide School series if you want more info on peptides for skin. Sunscreen > Vitamin C: Vitamin C is an amazing supporting player, but sunscreen remains the foundation of every anti-aging routine. Peptides > Growth Factors: Growth factors can be incredibly expensive. Peptides are generally more affordable and easier to incorporate into a routine while still offering anti-aging benefits. Retinoid > Exfoliating Acids: Exfoliating acids can make your skin look smoother and brighter, but retinoids improve collagen production, texture, and fine lines over time. Retinoid > Peptides: Peptides are a great addition, but if I had to choose just one anti-aging ingredient in your 40s, retinoids win every time. If you're new to retinoids or aren't sure which one is right for you, check out my FREE Retinoid guide in the link in bio. Sunscreen > Retinoid: Retinoids are the gold standard for healthy aging, but sunscreen is still the most important thing you can do to protect the skin you're investing in. The truth is that most people don't need more skincare products. They need to prioritize the right ones. If you're in your 40s, consistently wearing sunscreen and using a retinoid will get you farther than chasing every new anti-aging trend.
