I don’t know why the mother didn’t bring acceptable snacks for her daughter. I always brought lots of things for my kids to snack on and made sure we had drinks too before boarding

I was on a flight with a teenager and mother and he was making grunting sounds and slapping the seats. When we were in the air, everyone around them was moved to business or premium, it was a big empty circle around them. She thought they would be moved, never told cabin crew or airline.

Sounds like a medical emergency to me because the child was have a meltdown related to her diagnosed condition. If she has ARFID she’s not going to eat what the plane has to offer either. Autism runs in my family. So I know either grandson or my nephew wouldn’t have eaten that slop.

I’m sorry but if you knew there was a potential for your autistic daughter to need specific foods on a flight, and you as her mother are well aware she becomes upset and acts out with out it, that’s on you. What people won’t do to facilitate sympathy or lawsuits.

Why wouldn’t the mother buy food for her and take it on the plane? It’s the mother’s fault for failing to plan appropriately

If the child was out of control it isn’t safe. This is the mother’s fault as she knew the child would need food and she should have packed snacks. No excuse.

So if this is a known situation then why not mom prepare better. If you have a special needs child, then you most certainly should know. That is 100% her responsibility. I agree with the captain.
