I have an allergy to dog and cat dandruff as well and growing up every time, I would touch my dogs, I would just wash my hands after but I would just wait it out a little bit longer to see!!

Hi! Me and my son are both allergic to dogs, we have a morkie (Maltese and yorkie) shes hypoallergenic and we both have athsma and eczema. When we first got her we were unexpectedly itchy and a bit wheezy we contiplated rehoming her but after a few weeks our body’s and immune system adjusted and glad we did not rehome! Get an air purifier, and keep the dog out of daughter’s room. VACCUM more frequently. Also use hypoallergenic shampoo on the doggy! You can also see an allergist and explore options! Best thing we ever did was keep the dog she is such an emotional support for my only child and he is also on the spectrum. Give it time! See what happens.

Hepa filters in the ac duct, put an air purifier in her room and in the main part of the house. Me and my daughter both allergic and I have asthma...ive been fine since doing all of those things.

Omg we had this exact experience last week with my son. We were visiting family who have two small dogs, one mix and one pure poodle and he started coughing soooooo bad. That night he was wheezing and groaning in his sleep. He threw up from not being able to breathe. I didn’t have any experience with asthma before and I took him to emergency. His lungs were very wheezy so they gave him an inhaler. It was so scary!

I’m super allergic to cats. Shots didn’t work. I’ve tried to be around them the allergy/asthma won’t go away I could never as much as I wanted one for my health

Not worth keeping the pup around, I had to go through the same thing as a kid. Had to rehome the dog, 24 now and still haven’t outgrown the allergy, I have cat now.

Hi I’m allergic to dogs and cats and I’ve grown up with both. It’s takes awhile for my body to get used to the animal. I also take an allergy pill every morning it’s just kind of became my normal. I don’t let animals lick my body or face bc that’ll make it worse. I pet animals but I got go crazy when I pet them if that makes sense. When I do get bad I take a shower and take Benadryl

Is the maltipoo hypoallergenic? My daughter is 8 and has asthma and we just found out she’s allergic to dogs and cats , but we have them and her outbreaks haven’t been bad maybe wait a little

My mom had a shihpooh (Marley) & boy was he loved. I’m always visiting my moms so my baby & Marley were really close. My son STAYED sick! I mean I genuinely thought it would never end. Come to find out he was severely allergic to dogs. I also learned that it’s not only about if the dog is hypoallergenic, you can also be allergic to the dogs saliva. Dogs chew things, lick, drop skin on the floor…my mom end end up giving him away to a good friend. I miss him terribly. 🥺😔
