@astralfrontiers: Light travels at an incredible 300,000 km/s — yet even at that speed, our solar system is so vast that it still takes minutes to hours for sunlight to reach each world. 🔹 Mercury – ☀️ 3.2 minutes The fastest world to receive the Sun’s warmth—its surface can reach 430°C. 🔹 Venus – 🌕 6 minutes Thick clouds reflect most sunlight, trapping heat in a runaway greenhouse effect. 🔹 Earth – 🌍 8.3 minutes Sunlight that left the Sun just over eight minutes ago is lighting your face right now. 🔹 Mars – 🔴 12.6 minutes The red planet glows softly under sunlight delayed by nearly a quarter of an hour. 🔹 Jupiter – 🟠 43.2 minutes Sunlight takes nearly three-quarters of an hour to reach this gas giant. 🔹 Saturn – 💫 79.3 minutes Almost an hour and twenty minutes for each golden ray to touch its shimmering rings. 🔹 Uranus – 🌀 159 minutes (2.6 hours) Sunlight here is pale and weak—only 1/400th as strong as on Earth. 🔹 Neptune – 🔵 249 minutes (4.15 hours) By the time light arrives, it’s already aged four hours—and the Sun is just a distant star. Even light, the fastest thing in existence, reminds us: space is vast, and distance humbling. 🌞➡️🌌 #AstralFrontiers #SpeedOfLight #SolarSystem #CosmicDistances #AstronomyFacts

Angelo :
Perché dire 7 mesi per andare su Marte, quando con una astronave Shuttle, a 300.000 km ci vogliono 12 minuti. Non abbiamo Shuttle da 300.000 km? Why say it takes 7 months to get to Mars, when a shuttle spacecraft, at 300,000 km, takes 12 minutes? Don't we have a 300,000 km shuttle?
