I do a ton of research before eating out. Often calling the restaurant to ask about their allergy policies and see if the even can accommodate me. But I still eat out. I deserve to eat good food I don't have to cook too.

My best friend has a severe gluten allergy and it’s been slow and progressive as it’s gotten worse, but we’ve learnt so much from it and there is hope to go out to places, but it does in badly sometimes and I have to gluten-free my house every single time she comes over, I have to move all of my wooden spatulas and all of my wooden cutting board so that they’re not in use and get my pots and pans out that are stainless steel and more antibacterial ( she comes over weeks at a time long distance ) it’s hard to find, but we’ve learnt that calling and communicating with restaurants and places really helps as well as fully communicating with servers me and her both have worked in the restaurant industry so we know how the back works and how hard it is to stay away from cross-contamination, but we have been able to make it work a lot and it usually has to do a lot of research and looking for places that are the perfect fit honestly fallow me and reach out personally if you need help I can help you find places in your area or whatever you are visiting to help take the stress of you I’m really good at it and if you are new to it there are really secret questions that need to be asked you might not know about

44 year old celiac here! It gets easier/better in my opinion. It’s nerve wracking but it’s a lot better than it use to be! Download the find me gluten free app and it will be your best friend!

If I had a food intolerance that affected my brain, I definitely wouldn't be leaving my health in the hands of a bunch of underpaid line cooks. And this is coming from a career chef who actually cares about allergies in my restaurant.

I’ve had celiac my whole life and didn’t get diagnosed until I was in my 30s. Going GF was life changing. I still eat out. You have to understand what everything is made from. I also make most everything from scratch so it’s easy for me to stay GF daily. I make healthier and better food than I ever did prior to diagnosis.

I have Alpha Gal syndrome. I can’t eat out either. I can’t risk ordering something ‘safe’ for fear of cross-contamination. 😞
