Why can’t you just cut it flat I deal with crown to big for the saw. So I cut it laying flat. It’s easier after you learn how to do it.

Just set the crown at the right spring angle, mark a line on the deck, hot glue a scrap piece of wood to the line and you’ll have the same thing.
