People dont understand the need for these until you do apartment maintenance and have to get into 26 FACP rooms with doors that work a solid 20% of the time. It’s so common practice you won’t even get written up for it on a fire inspection. (Atleast here where I’m from)

This tool requires the latch mechanism to be malfunctioning or installed improperly. That being said, a lot of times that is the case. I keep an old speedy rewards card to do just this
