Y’all need to realize that you are talking to individuals on the phone and that is not a direct reflection of the entire church as a whole or even the leader because a lot of times you’re not even calling the leader you talking to a board member and if they don’t have the information then what are they gonna tell you

As someone who answers phone for a church, you don't even realize how many calls we get for help...we help as many as we can. but as soon as you asked a question if they go to church, the answer is always "No"

Do you have any idea how many people ask the church for money handouts on a daily basis? You don’t, but I do! My dad’s a pastor and gets phone calls and ppl stop by on the daily. People don’t even come to church anymore but want the church to help them, some just can’t afford to help ppl that don’t come on a regular basis. It’s sad but we have to have ppl come to church and tithe to have money for such expenses.

Yes, the church should help those outside its walls — but that doesn’t mean blindly handing out money to anyone with a sad story. Too many play the system or lie for attention. Discernment isn’t judgment; it’s obedience. Jesus saw through deceit, and the church should too.
