People get their information from social media now. Nobody cares about confirming the sources. Forget the fact that the bell curve of IQ means most people are not highly intelligent. Doesn’t mean these are bad people, but they’re easily manipulated and highly suggestible. I’m a millennial. When I got evidence for something, I was looking at primary sources and tables of data. I leafed through literal ancient tomes with a glass rod in a centuries old library. Now I hear opinions based on influencers everywhere. Political propaganda obfuscated in deliberately vague or emotionally inciting language. What I’ve come to learn is, there’s no point in arguing and mostly, your opinion is worthless. It’s more valuable to create than to persuade, so the intellectuals can influence through art, science, and entrepreneurship.

I never went to university, but I use this black brick of all human knowledge in my hands to teach myself all kinds of stuff... and some people would rather just watch the entirety of the office again instead of learning something. My jimmies, they are thuroughly rustled.

The other day, I fr was sincerely trying to be helpful in telling someone their statement doesn't line up with how the world works and their 👏OWN STATEMENT👏 about being blown away and that some stuff is crazy is a sign for them to read up on serious topics more, to learn about the "crazy", legit just trying to foster curiosity in my fellow human bean, and they called my suggestion SANCTIMONY 😂💀💀 I hate it here
