@annelisethearchaeologist: Replying to @ConstantinePhotography Great question! We don’t know! And it’s a great example of a real, ongoing archaeological mystery. #archaeology #History #nefertiti #ancientegypt #egypt
Isn’t there a theory that Nefertiti is KV21B buried next to her daughter?

There are a large number of unidentified mummies that have been found in royal caches (piles) over the years, and it was very common for royal remains to be moved and hidden if tomb robbing was occurring, so there are a lot of folks hanging around without helpful identifying items.

Is there a reason that we know that the female bodies were not as well preserved and looked after? Was it just because they were not a pharaoh?

Didn’t Nefertiti start worshipping a different God and anger the Egyptians. Therefore it is hypothesised that all, or mostly all evidence of her was deliberately destroyed? I recall them finding stones with her cartouche used in building a temple to someone else.

I honestly think her mummy was destroyed. They tried to destroy her after her husbands passing (if I remember right)

hearing Akhenaten always confuses me for a second, learn about him as Echnaton. Seeing the Nefriti bust is still on my bucket list, once the museums isle in Berlin is fully open again i make a trip there, one week and just visiting the different museums (and yes i think it should be in an Egyptian museum instead of Berlin)

why do I remember a day-time-shoe where they discussed the reconstruction (of how she really looked like) of Nefertiti but we don't even have her mummy? I only remember because the reconstruction looked nothing like the bust

Has Thinis been located? I was watching a video last night that said the first capitol of Egypt has still not been located but it was on old video.

I once watch a documentary that examined the theory that all of the furnishing of tut's tomb were acutally repurposed/stolen from Nefertiti's. Any basis to this in your opinion.

I mean by the sheer volume of graves they still keep finding both around Giza/Saqqara and the Valleys of the Queens and Kings it is very possible the grave just hasnt been found yet... i really wouldnt be surprised

I think I remember you saying you worked with expedition unknown. what's your opinion on the show they did with the scan and forensic reconstruction on I think the younger lady and it looked very much like it was Nefertiti.

Didn’t they think they found her with the older and younger women? The one with the long hair? Or did I get it all muddled up.

I personally wonder if her grave was robbed and/or destroyed given all of the changes they instituted with Amarna
