I stopped selling on Etsy in 2023 after their stock dropped by 66% and they got rid of all human staff. Before that I was making 5 figures a month. Then, suddenly, people with orders marked as delivered started claiming that they never received their orders, and Etsy automatically refunded them from my balance or bank account within minutes of the claims being made with zero investigation. I lost thousands of dollars, and decided then to part ways.

Etsy is the WORST. I used to sell stickers and since my Etsy ban, I haven’t gotten to create stickers and I miss it so much 😭 I tried Shopify but it was an epic fail

I just looked and she published for opposition in August. You should see where she notified the general population that she had filed for a trademark. Second. She is in violation of the law because she is using the registered trademark on her website and it is still open. Third because it’s not live she has nothing to sue you for. I would definitely file an opposition.

OK, as someone who understands copyright and trademark, if you have been using that before the trademark was acquired, there is nothing they can do about it. All you have to do is prove you’ve been doing it before they acquired the trademark. If you pre-date the trademark, there isn’t anything that company can do legally. As far as copyright, it’s the same thing if you created something that is your own, and somebody else uses it, it’s yours. If you can prove the date of inception,there’s no way they can do anything about it.

i had someone from the UK do this. and they only harassed me about one listing when i had multiple shirts that said Savage. they didnt even have a shop on etsy. just a shopping account

my bf had an etsy shop and it got suspended one day without reason. he reached out to etsy several times, and instead of getting back to him they just permanently suspended his account. he still doesn’t know why, and he can’t do anything about it now. i’m sorry this is happening to you, and i hope you were able to recover your account

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I've been wanting to start an Etsy store for a while now but situations like yours and other hardworking small business owners is what prevents me from moving forward. I pray that you are able to get your shop back. Once you do please start a website or sell on another platform, so you don't have to go through this again.

if you have the means, challenge the trademark! maybe you can reach out to other artists that have also used the term and you can all file a claim together to challenge it. its extremely difficult for a trademark on a common phrase/name/descriptor to actually stick when challenged. im so sorry this happened to you.

I don’t use Etsy anymore. Put together my entire wedding with it 13 years ago but it has been so disappointing. it is far too complicated and takes too much time to sift through the drop shippers to find the real artists now.

same thing happened to me. I made a bunch of stickers with sayings "fight like a girl" and my account was banned because a cancer foundation trademarked that? I understand slogans, but that's a whole phrase I've seen used in SO many places 😭

The fact she couldn’t even wait a full business day before reporting especially when Sundays are excluded from a standard business day count. So technically you did have until Tuesday at 9am to respond since the business day wouldn’t have started till 9am Monday.
