@there_y0u_are: Replying to @user50046208666 here’s my little hack for making big art for your big walls, without spending ten million dollars 1. find an old physical family photo that you like 2. take a scan of the image at a very high DPI 3. save the image to an external hard drive and take it to your local printer 4. have the image printed to your specifications 5. get the print custom framed 6. hang and enjoy!

Do you have a favorite place in nyc where you’re framing stuff that’s relatively cost effective? 🙏

Also there’s a website called let’s enhance that will enhance low res images and you can export them as large files!

Ask a loved one to paint you something, or post on Craigslist that you’re looking for local artists and share a price range. Support artists however you can ❤

Do you ask for anything specific when asking to print it? On any material or type of print?

Also, a reminder that not ALL big art is a lot of money. You just have to look.

Such a good tip! I’m going to do this with photos of my grandmother! Also, I have extremely high ceilings in the front of my home, where the formal dining and staircase are. I’m contemplating making the whole area like an art gallery. Is that weird?
