The cool thing about viktor in the book is that he’s born into a loving wealthy caring family and his dad is nothing but supportive. Viktor just couldn’t understand death; the only thing he ever knew that didn’t truly cared for him. That’s how you see viktor as a flawed vicious and egoistic man, his rejection and hatred towards the creature only makes him more despicable and sad.
